SharePoint has several small annoyances and sometimes it really takes time to figure out what is possible or not. One annoyance is doing SUM or any other function on a calculated field in a created View. You would think it works but no it doesn’t (it is simply not available). It is weird because if you want to do a calculated field you probably also want to do a total SUM of all those fields, bad luck :-)
